CLUB MEMBERS
CODE OF CONDUCT
The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarized below.
All volunteers, officials, players and parents involved with West Leeds A.R.L.F.C MUST! ;
1.Respect the dignity, rights and worth of every person within the club.
2.Treat everyone equally, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability.
3.Not allow any form of discrimination to be condoned or go unchallenged.
4.Hold paramount the well-being and safety of all young people, which should be placed above performance.
5.Know and adhere to at all times the guidelines laid out in the RFL Child Protection Policy and WLARLFC Constitution.
6.Develop an appropriate working relationship with young people, which should be based on mutual respect and trust.
7.Not engage in any form of sexually related contact with a young member. This is strictly forbidden as is sexual innuendo, flirting or inappropriate gestures and terms.
8.Respect young peoples opinions when making decisions about their participation in rugby league and the club.
9.Ensure that players and parents are fully aware of the requirements of rugby league.
10. Be aware of and report any conflicts of interest as soon as they arise.
11.Have high standards of language, manner, punctuality, presentation and preparation.
12.Ensure that young people are not given, or encouraged to consume alcohol when they are in the care of the club or the RFL.
13.Ensure that relevant qualifications (appropriate to role) and adequate insurance covers are held.
14.Ensure that activities are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and abilities of the people taking part.
15.Attend appropriate and updated training to ensure that all roles are up to date with policies and procedures.
16.Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play)
17.Never exert undue influence over participants to obtain personal benefit or reward.
18.Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibited substances.
19.Encourage participants to value their performance and not just results.
20.Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for they’re on performance and behaviour.
No one operating within WLARLFC is exclusive of the Club Code of Conduct. Nor is any member of the club exempt from the clubs Disciplinary Procedure should any of the Club’s Rules be broken.
